Spread out over nearly 300 acres in sunny Florida, IMG Academies (IMGA) is the most advanced, state-of-the-art, multi-sport training and educational facility ever created for athletes.  With two private academic schools on campus and students from over 46 states and 80 countries,

IMGA is the largest and most successful school ever created for devoted athletes. Nowhere else in the world do aspiring and professional athletes in a variety of sports bond in one place during their season, off-season and pre-season to train within such a dynamic and motivating environment.  IMGA delivers world-class sports training experiences to over 12,000 junior, collegiate, adult and professional athletes each year.  In fact, IMGA can custom design a sports/recreation experience for every member of the family.

In 1978, Nick Bollettieri pioneered the concept of a tennis boarding school that combined athletic training and academic education into one integrated curriculum. In 1987, IMG bought the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy.  Nick Bollettieri’s approach to teaching was so successful that by 1993 this comprehensive training approach was expanded to additional sports – golf, soccer, baseball and basketball. Today, IMG Academies' divisions include: the IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy, the IMG Leadbetter Golf Academy, the IMG Soccer Academy, the IMG Baseball Academy, the IMG Basketball Academy, and the IMG Performance Institute (IPI).

The IMG Soccer Academy, home of the U.S. U-17 national team, opens its doors during the summer for serious players ages 10-19 to enjoy the unbeatable weather, facilities and coaching. Based in Bradenton, Fla., the Soccer Academy offers the most “comprehensive full-time soccer training program in the world.” Since opening in 1994, it has placed 24 players on U.S. national teams and produced more than 30 players at professional clubs in the MLS and Europe.

At IMG, student athletes train to succeed in any competitive arena. In addition to year-round soccer training, players balance physical and mental conditioning to build the body and mind. The program’s Physical Conditioning and Performance Training component works to improve speed, agility, quickness, strength, power and endurance. Mental Conditioning enhances self-awareness, confidence, motivation and focus. Players also receive Nutrition Consulting, College Placement advice, and training in the Communication skills so critical to interview skills and career success.

IMG brings their philosophy of “total-player development” to their camps. Regardless of your ability level, at IMG you will improve every facet of your game: technical, tactical, physical, and mental.

CAMP OPTIONS. As part of their unique offerings, IMG lets you pick the program that best fits your needs. You can join for a week camp, or stay for a multiple-week series to “maximize your training experience.”

Three distinct two-week Series give in-depth training in every aspect of the game. Series I focuses on developing and mastering individual techniques, “providing for a greater awareness and insight into the entire game.” Series II teaches positional play to “promote better decision making relative to each player’s role and responsibilities.” And Series III provides intense training sessions on advanced group and team tactics.

Serious players can also join one of the 3-week training camps at the beginning and end of the summer. The Open Pre-Series prepares players for the 6-week core of the program, and the Open Post-Series prepares players for their upcoming high school or club seasons.

IMG offers a specialized Goalkeeping Camp, which offers cutting edge training sessions from some of the nation’s premier coaches. Also, Team Training camps let your entire team – club, collegiate or professional – train together. Teams have the chance to customize their camping experience, use world-class facilities and play against game-raising competition.

Staff member Tom Durkin, who has coached at the highest levels with the U.S. U-17 National Team, as well as college and MLS teams. One of the nation’s most respected soccer minds, Durkin tops an all-star lineup of coaches at IMG, who emphasize the creation of a “dynamic, inspiring and fun-filled environment” unlike any other in the nation.
